Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you create an account, we collect:

• Your email address, and your name/profile photo if you sign in with Google
• A password hash, if you sign up with email/password (we never see or store your actual password)
• Your progress through the roadmap — which topics you've checked off, when, and your readiness quiz scores
• If you buy full access: your subscription status and plan, synced from our payment processor. We do not collect or store your card details ourselves — see “Payments” below.

We also automatically receive standard technical data from your browser (IP address, browser type, pages visited) as part of running the site and its hosting infrastructure.

Why we collect it

• To create and secure your account, and remember who you are between visits
• To save your roadmap progress, streaks, and readiness scores so they're there next time you log in
• To check what content you're entitled to see (free vs. paid)
• To send account-related messages — password resets, purchase confirmations
• To fix bugs and understand which parts of the site are actually useful

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers.

Who else sees it

We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run the site, and each only sees what it needs to do its job:

• Supabase — our database and authentication provider. Your account, password hash, and progress data are stored here.
• Vercel — hosts the website itself.
• Google — if you choose “Continue with Google” to sign in.
• Lemon Squeezy — processes payments for full access. They handle your card details directly; we never see or store them.

We may add a privacy-respecting analytics tool in the future to understand site usage in aggregate; if we do, we'll update this policy first.

Cookies

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in between page visits. It's required for the site to work and isn't used for advertising or tracking you across other websites.

Payments

Full access is sold and billed by Lemon Squeezy, who act as the merchant of record for these transactions. When you check out, you're on Lemon Squeezy's payment page, governed by their own privacy policy — we only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded (and which plan), not your payment details.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data and progress within a reasonable time, except where we're required to keep payment records for tax or legal reasons.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To do either, email us — see “Contact” below — and we'll act on it promptly.

Children

DevOps Level is intended for people old enough to be pursuing a technology career, and isn't directed at children under 16.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change what we collect or how we use it, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, let signed-in users know.
